Cookie Policy

What we store on your device, why, and how to change your mind.

1. What cookies are

Cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage) are small pieces of data saved by your browser. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), we must tell you about them and ask your consent unless they are strictly necessary or otherwise exempt.

2. Strictly necessary

Sign-in session (client portal) — keeps you logged in securely.

Form progress (dor:pendingBrief) — remembers an enquiry you are part-way through.

Your cookie choice (dor:consent) — remembers whether you accepted or rejected optional cookies.

These cannot be switched off because the site would not work without them.

3. Our own visit statistics

An anonymous visitor ID (dor:vid, kept until you clear it) and session ID (dor:sid, cleared when you close the browser) let us count visits and see which pages are useful. The data stays with us, is not shared with advertisers and is used only to improve the website.

If you choose "Reject non-essential", we stop collecting these statistics and delete the visitor ID.

4. Google Analytics (optional)

Only if you click "Accept all", we load Google Analytics, which sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_<id> (up to 2 years) to measure how visitors use the site. Google acts as our processor; see policies.google.com/privacy.

We do not use advertising, retargeting or social media tracking cookies.

5. Changing your choice

Use the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of any page at any time. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
