Architect or architectural technician?
A technician can draw a simple extension. An architect also designs how the new space works: where the light falls, how rooms connect, and what's likely to get planning. At DOR you deal with the principal, RIBA Chartered and ARB registered, from first sketch to final drawing, never a junior handed your project.
